Privacy & Use Notice
Last updated: October 25, 2026
1. Scope and your choices
This notice explains Citation Asset Studio, including AI-assisted report recipes, prompt improvement, local processing, report editing, local saves and backup files. Our general Privacy Policy and Terms of Service also apply.
You choose whether to share approved text with AI, include optional sample values, save a calculated report in this browser, or export a file. Generating a recipe does not automatically save your dataset or calculated report to our servers.
2. Source files and local calculations
CSV, TSV and XLSX files are read in a browser worker. The Studio does not upload your source file or full dataset. Source rows and sample previews are held in memory for local processing; they are not included in local report saves or report JSON backups.
Refreshing or leaving the workspace normally discards the in-memory source data. Your original file remains wherever you saved it on your device. Browser limits, interrupted tabs and device memory may prevent processing or export; local processing is not a guarantee of unlimited capacity or full offline availability.
3. Information sent to our API and AI providers
After approval, report generation sends your prompt and reviewed column names, IDs and types to AI. Sample values are included only when you explicitly enable and approve them. Your report title, dataset fingerprint and request ID are also sent to our API for saving, matching and credit bookkeeping; they are not sent to the AI model.
The prompt-improvement helper has separate approval. It sends only the current prompt and reviewed column labels/types to AI, never the file, dataset fingerprint, report title or sample rows. Suggestions do not replace your prompt until you apply them.
We use Gemini and may fall back to Groq. These providers process the approved text under their applicable terms, privacy and retention policies; do not assume zero retention or that every service tier has identical data-use terms. Remove confidential, personal or identifying information from prompts, headers and samples before sharing. AI processing uses a network connection and entails ordinary request metadata.
4. What is saved to your account
We save the compressed report recipe, including its approved title and column labels/types, selected operations, dataset fingerprint, creation time and model identifier. A recipe is an analysis configuration, not your uploaded dataset or computed report. Private recipe access requires your account.
We also keep credit records and request/usage receipts, such as request IDs, hashes, status, timestamps and daily prompt-improvement allowances. Prompt text, sample rows and improved suggestions are not intentionally persisted as recipe or prompt-helper records. Service infrastructure and AI-provider policies may separately govern operational logs and retention.
Deleting an account recipe does not delete downloaded files or browser copies. Some usage and completion receipts remain to prevent duplicate charges or misuse; deletion of a recipe does not erase all operational or billing records.
5. Optional browser saves
Save on this device is an explicit opt-in action. It writes the recipe, report metadata, calculated values, group labels and presentation edits to localStorage for the current account and browser origin. It does not save source CSV/XLSX files or sample-row arrays. Aggregated report values and group labels can still be sensitive.
Browser storage is not encrypted. Account-scoped keys organize the interface; they do not protect against someone with access to your browser profile, developer tools, device, or scripts running on the same origin. Avoid saving sensitive reports on shared or unmanaged devices.
Storage may be blocked, full, removed by the browser, or lost when you clear site data. Local copies do not automatically synchronize across devices, browser profiles or domains. Save again after editing to update a local copy. Removing a local copy does not delete its cloud recipe, original source file or downloaded backups.
6. PDF exports and JSON backup/import
PDF exports and report JSON backups are created on your device. A JSON backup includes the recipe, report metadata, all calculated sections including hidden ones, and presentation edits so it can be reopened without the CSV. It excludes source files and sample rows. A backup is not a redacted sharing format. Backups are not encrypted; anyone who obtains the file may read or import its contents.
Importing a report parses and validates it locally without an AI call, report-generation charge or upload of the backup. An imported report is not automatically saved to localStorage. Format and consistency checks do not prove that its statistics, source or ownership are authentic; snapshots are marked as not re-verified against source data.
7. Editing, accuracy and publication rights
You can edit titles, display labels, owner notes, section visibility and order within key figures or analyses. The editor does not change calculated numbers or source groupings. Presentation edits are identified in the report. Recomputing requires the matching source data.
Review units, exclusions, date coverage, limitations and claims before publishing. You are responsible for permission to process and disclose your data, respecting third-party dataset licenses and attribution, and complying with applicable privacy obligations. Publicly accessible data is not necessarily openly licensed. Describe secondary analysis honestly; do not present it as your own customer survey.
Reports are informational, not professional advice. Publishing a PDF or research page does not guarantee accuracy, search rankings, traffic or AI citations.
8. Discovery links, analytics and contact
Open-data discovery prepares links locally. Opening an external search shares its query with that catalog. Country and topic entries are hints, not guaranteed dataset filters. External websites have their own privacy policies.
The Studio private workspace does not initialize our Google Analytics or Clarity tracking. Public SnapVibr pages may use analytics under the general Privacy Policy. Browser storage can be accessible to same-origin scripts, so tracking isolation is not an encryption or device-security guarantee.
