Role Overview
As a Software Engineer II, you will lead the architecture of our distributed audit engine, high-concurrency browser fleets, and weekly monitoring pipeline. You will solve complex scalability bottlenecks: ensuring multi-step website inspections finish in seconds while maintaining rock-solid fault tolerance.
You will have end-to-end ownership over foundational systems. You will design reliable queuing pipelines, optimize browser fleets under burst workloads, and pioneer new automated inspection heuristics for next-generation web platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Scale our distributed browser worker cluster handling concurrent website rendering and visual heatmap analysis.
- Lead technical design of backend data models, transactional credit accounting, and background scheduling engines.
- Optimize end-to-end audit latency from 15s to sub-5s through predictive caching and parallelized heuristic pipelines.
- Mentor team members, establish engineering standards, and conduct thoughtful code reviews.
- Ensure system resilience, automated observability, and zero-downtime continuous deployments.
What We Are Looking For
- 4+ years of professional software engineering experience working on distributed systems or high-traffic web products.
- Advanced mastery of TypeScript, asynchronous Node.js concurrency, and relational or document databases.
- Proven experience scaling cloud infrastructure, message queues, rate-limiting, and distributed worker systems.
- Strong technical leadership and ability to break down ambiguous product requirements into clean engineering milestones.
- Clear, empathetic technical writing and ability to communicate complex architecture simply.
Bonus / Preferred Skills
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or serverless container runtimes.
- Familiarity with modern AI agent workflows, automated browsers, or developer-first tooling.
- Prior experience working in high-growth startups or developer-first SaaS products.
- Understanding of distributed tracing, metrics, and automated fault recovery.
Perks & Benefits
- 100% remote flexibility: work from anywhere in the world.
- Direct influence on product roadmap, engineering culture, and strategic architecture.
